Tis the season of the ever popular trunk shows. I made a few rounds today to my local boutiques to see what I could find. Today’s primary discovery was a handbag line from Los Angeles. Leave it to my very talented friends, Laura Hart and Dana Marron, to bring a little Los Angeles to Laguna Beach.
My friends are the owners of Laguna Supply boutique, a local’s mainstay shop in town. They carry a line named after the designer, Mary Jo Matsumoto.
Her line of beautiful leather totes boasts to have the same zippers as Celine. Mary Jo also explained that the sewer she uses came from sewing Louis Vuitton! You can only imagine the quality, yet the price points are much friendlier.
Ranging in price from $150 to $650, the styles include the ever popular tote, evening clutches in fun colors as well as smaller leather items.
My absolute favorite is the black pony hair over-sized clutch. It has an electric blue lining and is large enough to accommodate your iPad!
She even has her own version of the ever popular backpack, which is clearly making its comeback, with plaid fabric for the lining for a fun twist on a classic. I’m a fan of Mary Jo Matsumoto because she has the sophistication and luxury of the big designer names with reasonable prices. How can you resist?
